My name is Erik Huter. I am an undergraduate student at Kansas State University studying mathematics and statistics. I expect to graduate in May 2027. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I aspire to pursue a PhD in pure mathematics.

My summer reading list includes, and not particularly in this order: Calculus on Manifolds by Michael Spivak, Smooth Manifolds by John Lee, Analysis on Metric Measure Spaces, Lectures on Analysis on Metric Spaces by Juha Heinonen, and Real and Complex Analysis by Walter Rudin. I have collected various solutions to exercises from these books (and various other problems) in my projects page.

My research interests currently lie in real and complex analysis, but I am still young in my mathematical journey and look forward to exploring many other areas of mathematics. I am currently working on a project in geometric measure theory. For more information about my research, click here.

Other areas I am actively looking to learn about are introductory category theory and several variable complex analysis (or other further topics in complex analysis). I welcome any and all recommendations for textbooks in these subjects (or even others!).

In the Fall 2026 semester, I am taking Abstract Algebra I (Math 730), Introduction to Topology/Geometry I (Math 770), and Real Analysis (Math 821). Next semester, Spring 2027, I plan to take Abstract Algebra II (Math 731), Introduction to Topology/Geometry II (Math 771), and hopefully another analysis class.

My hobbies and interests outside of mathematics include sports (Go Cats!), video games, rock climbing, and my two cats Snowflake and Fubini. I am an avid K-State fan and college sports enthusiast. In the moments I find myself with extra free time, I like to play Rocket League, Clash of Clans (practically maxed town hall 18), Valorant, and Minecraft.
